2011 Golden Turtle Photography Contest Winners

The Golden Turtle photography contest  was a flooded by 1,500 photographers from 37 countries that  submitted over 18,000 images for the contest, the fifth year for the russian event. The awards for the contest were handed out to 10 Russian photographers, one Hungarian and one Lithuanian. The winning pictures can be found below or at the exhibition is open in Russia from March 27 to April 24, as the Russian Geographical Society announced.

Among the pictures you will find a wonderful world of forests and swamps, unknown depths of the oceans, the highest mountains, glaciers and hot deserts will open before us the unforgettable world of its inhabitants and their perfect harmony with our planet.

Last year the contest "Golden Turtle" has expanded its scope. Exhibition of the best works of the competition was first introduced abroad - in France, the official program, the friendship of France and Russia.

Almost all the cities, where the annual totals show the results of the competition receives exposure status "event in the year." Incidentally exhibition makes the most big tour in Russia, collecting hundreds of thousands of visitors in 12 cities.
