Diana Thorneycroft is a Winnipeg artist who has exhibited various bodies of work across Canada, the United States and Europe, as well as in Moscow, Tokyo and Sydney. She is the recipient of numerous awards including an Assistance to Visual Arts Long-term Grant from the Canada Council, several Senior Arts Grants from the Manitoba Arts Council and a Fleck Fellowship from the Banff Centre for the Arts. Her work has been the subject of national radio documentaries and a CBC national documentary for television.

The 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Photography Winner Barbara Davidson

The year-long process begins with the appointment of 102 distinguished jurors who serve on separate juries and make three recommendations in each of 21 categories. In twenty of these, each winner receives a certificate and a US$10,000 cash award. The winner in the public service category of the journalism competition is awarded a gold medal, which always goes to a newspaper, although an individual may be named in the citation.

For a distinguished example of feature photography in black and white or color, which may consist of a photograph or photographs, in print or online or both, Ten thousand dollars ($10,000). Awarded to Barbara Davidson of the Los Angeles Times for her intimate story of innocent victims trapped in the city’s crossfire of deadly gang violence.

PETER LIPPMANN is an American-born photographer who has worked in Paris for 25 years.  Specialized in still life, advertising, magazine work, food, and trompe l'oeil. France, he publishes regularly in Vogue, the New York Times Magazine, Marie Claire, and Le Figaro.  We had the opportunity to make an interview with him and to feature his pictures created for one of the best chefs in the world, Pierre Gagnaire . The persistent styling  was made by careful and rigorous artist & editor Eric Trochon.

2011 Golden Turtle Photography Contest Winners

The Golden Turtle photography contest  was a flooded by 1,500 photographers from 37 countries that  submitted over 18,000 images for the contest, the fifth year for the russian event. The awards for the contest were handed out to 10 Russian photographers, one Hungarian and one Lithuanian. The winning pictures can be found below or at the exhibition is open in Russia from March 27 to April 24, as the Russian Geographical Society announced.
