Larry Louie - Travel Photographer of the Year 2010

The Travel Photographer Of The Year Competition has named its winner for 2010, and it's Larry Louie with his wonderful black & white photographs of Djenne in Mali.

Photographers in over 70 countries submitted thousands of images for this year’s contest. Entrants from 34 countries were shortlisted and photographers from 18 countries scooped individual category awards. The judges unanimously agreed that his beautiful, very distinctive shots made Larry - who uses his photography as a platform to highlight the work of the eyesight charity Seva Canada – a very worthy overall winner.

Larry Louie is a Canadian optometrist and a photographer, who is using his photography as a platform to highlight the work of an eye care charity, as well as other issues and challenges in a world facing rapid urbanization and globalization.
