Australian Fashion Photography by Henryk Lobaczewski
Henryk Lobaczewski is a fashion, advertising, beauty & editorial photographer based in Sydney, Australia. The artist never really planned being a photographer, but when he studying graphic design, he got a job as an Art Director for Lorna Jane, a clothing company for women. After a while he moved to Sydney and he set up his studio.
His clients include Culture Magazine, Triumph Lingerie, Gary Yang, Angus & Julia Stone, and many more, and he enjoys the work of fellow photographers such as Steven Meisel, Miles Aldridge, Camilla Åkrans, Annie Liebowitz, David LaChapelle and Helmut Newton.
Like we can see, his work exudes cleanliness, perfection, no flaws. Sensual, glamorous, elegant, here are three words that best define his photographs.
“While studying graphic design I got a job straight out of university as an Art Director for Lorna Jane, and they hired me under the pretense that I’d shoot their monthly look books as well. I had never used studio lights before. They bought me two. Before I knew it I had fell deeply in love with fashion photography- borrowing and finally buying the lights off the company and resigning to freelance photography back to them while finding more clients. One year after I moved to Sydney and set up a studio and the passion remains- all self taught- you just have to love what you do.”
