Inspiring Portrait Photography by Annalaura Masciavè
Annalaura Masciavè is a 21 y.o. young freelance photographer from Rome, Italy. She started taking pictures at 18 and never stopped: photography is her obsession, her basic need, her way to breath...and now her job.
Because we had the possibility to interview Annalaura, here is some point of view about photography:
What’s your creative process like? I usually keep a small book where I note all the feelings, thoughts, ideas and sensations that could converge in a shot, then I try to find the right places and dresses and, when it's all ready, I usually call some models and go shooting with them. Almost every picture I realize is deeply thought and is the result of my intimate world.
I find inspiration in a lot of different ways... by looking at other photographers' work (for example Jessica Strom, Jack Toohey etc.), or sleeping (sometimes I dream such strange things XD), thinking on a bus, looking at the people I meet on the street...I don't have a particular way to find inspiration.
I like photography because it allows me to express even the most remote corners of myself and because I feel free when I do it: I can throw all my negative/positive sensations out with a shot, and that's very good for me.
Where do you find inspiration and why you like photography? Just do not try to imitate someone else's style...If you truly put yourself in your images, your work will be good.
